“Whatever you do, work at it with all your hearts, as working
for the Lord, not for men” – Colossians 3: 23
Dear Children,
With couple of months over in this 2007, I am happy to be back
with you, once again.
One of the reasons that make me love to continue writing to you
is because as youngsters, each one of you has a long way to go
where a lot of work can be done and achieved successfully.
Fortunately children, we are all as blessed and to worship and
serve a loving God who has shown us the path to the eternal life
and giving us whatever we ask for His glory and that glorifies
Him. As we read the Bible, among the many comforting words and
promises that is for YOU AND ME, one such verse is from Psalms
37: 4 - 5, “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you
the desires of your heart. Commit your ways to the Lord; trust
in Him and He will do this;”
We have a Father who tells us to commit our desires to Him.
I am sure in this young age all of us, in our lives have many
desires. Many times, we succeed with our desires and sometimes,
we do not. When we see failures and disappoints all around us,
we feel very dejected as if all is lost. Do you dread or feel
tired of your mornings whether to go to do your routine chores
or work at school or in your lives? Do you anxiously look at the
clock toward closing time each day in the afternoon or evening
or night to somehow wind up for the day? Is your mind wandering
throughout the day toward other places or things you would love
to be doing? When we have the opportunity to deliver lectures on
confidence building topics and measures, one point that often we
ask is: WHAT IS THE ONE SPECIAL DESIRE YOU HAVE CONCERNING YOUR
FUTURE? How would you measure your level of passion for that
desire to be fulfilled?
A very important need to achieve success in the goals of our
life is to have a passion for it.
With prayer at the center and powerful and effective as it is,
passion is also power. YOU WILL ONLY HAVE SIGNIFICANT SUCCESS
WITH SOMETHING THAT IS AN OBSESSION. Obsession is the state in
which your mind is completely filled with thoughts of one
particular thing or person so that we don’t think of anything
else. In other words, we focus on the goals of our life and make
sure to achieve it. Being obsessive consumes our thoughts and
time. Many famous people are remembered for their obsessions.
Henry Ford is remembered for the automobile, Thomas Edison for
inventions. Again, in spiritual life, Billy Graham is known for
evangelism. Oral Roberts for healing. There are many such people
who are known well for their contributions made and for their
passions.
Jesus had a passion for His mission and goal in life. “For the
Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost”
(Luke 19: 10). Yes, He came to save the lost, the sinners, the
sick, etc. Yes, the amazing love of Jesus showed that HE DID
IT!!!
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and
with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were
oppressed of the devil; FOR GOD WAS WITH HIM” (Acts 10: 38).
Jesus focused on doing the exact instructions of His heavenly
Father. He healed the sick. He noticed the lonely. He came to
make people successful, to restore and repair their life to FULL
fellowship with the Father.
I don’t know how many of you have watched the movie, “PASSION”.
The director, Mel Gibson, tried to his best to describe the
crucifixion of Jesus. Jesus’ obsession took Him to the cross. It
took Him to the crucifixion. Eight inches of thorns were crushed
into His brow. A spear punctured His side. Spikes were driven
into His hands. Thirty nine stripes of a whip tore His back to
shreds. A commentary mentions that four hundred people spit on
His body. His beard was ripped off his face. My dear children,
THAT WAS FOR ALL OF US!!!!! FOR EACH OF THE SINS WE HAVE
COMMITTED. He was obsessed with the salvation of each one of us,
for all mankind. And He succeeded.
As we focus our lives to Him and as His children on our goals,
first make it all for HIS GLORY. We can also start small, very
little for all that Jesus did for us. Decide to do whatever you
can each day to please Him and glorify Him. Take that step
today. If what you love begins to consume your mind, your
thoughts, your conversation, your schedule – look for
extraordinary success.
Each morning as you begin with, ask yourself: ‘What can I do
today for my Lord?? How can I please Him today?? Learn each day
to focus your life, thoughts, words and action onto Him alone.
Take the step today of coming out of any wrong thoughts that
disturb you for it will not give you much success at what you
are doing.
Find something that consumes you, something that is worthy of
building your entire life around. That includes, your friends,
the people around. Make the right type of environment around
you.
Let us learn to set our heart upon a goal and to accomplish it.
Ask God to give us the diligence and wisdom to turn our goals
into our strongest desire. FOCUS ON IT.
Prayerfully, tell God and put this plan into action to turn that
desire into reality. Jesus with you, you can be confident of the
IMPOSSIBLE TURNING INTO POSSIBLE.
